We envision a peaceful and abundant Terra Australis in which men and women actively participate in the governance of their own communities and accept responsibility for the freedoms they wish to preserve.
Authority begins with the people in their Local Assemblies. Decisions are made as close as practicable to the people and communities affected by them, with matters moving to the National Soil Assembly only where cooperation or coordination between communities is genuinely required.
The State Assembly serves the people by carrying out the international responsibilities delegated to it, representing the Assemblies in matters that cross jurisdictions and dealing with external governments, organisations and service providers on behalf of the people.
Our Assembly model is built from the local community outward — not imposed from the top down.
Together, we steward our communities, shared assets, resources, infrastructure and natural environment with care, foresight and accountability. We seek abundance not only for ourselves, but for those who come after us.
Our vision is one of peace
We are not here to fight the old system. We are building what comes next.
We seek peaceful repair where harm has occurred, peaceful relationships between communities and institutions, and practical solutions that allow men and women to live freely, safely and with dignity.
We recognise that freedom carries responsibility. A self-governing people must be informed, involved and willing to contribute their time, knowledge, skills and good character to the communities they share.
Local first
Authority rests with the most immediate community affected by a matter. Responsibility moves outward only when the matter cannot reasonably be handled at the local level.
Participation and responsibility
Self-government is something we do, not something done for us. Every man and woman is encouraged to learn, participate, contribute and take responsibility for the health of their Assembly and community.
Stewardship and abundance
Our land, natural resources, infrastructure and shared assets are to be responsibly stewarded for the benefit of the people today and for generations yet to come. Our decisions should increase knowledge, health, opportunity, resilience and genuine abundance.
Peaceful repair
Where problems or harm arise, we seek to understand and address their causes, repair what can be repaired and restore peaceful relationships wherever possible.
Community well-being
Our decisions should strengthen safe, capable and connected communities in which individuals, families and neighbours can thrive.
Proactive resilience
We seek solutions that address causes rather than continually managing symptoms. Education, preparation, local capability and strong relationships make our communities more resilient and less dependent upon distant institutions.
Service, not rule
Those entrusted with an Office, Committee or delegated responsibility serve the people who gave them that authority. Authority is limited by its purpose and remains accountable to the people.
Transparency and accountability
Our processes should be understandable, our decisions visible and our delegated responsibilities clearly defined. Those exercising authority are accountable for how it is used.
Good conscience and honourable conduct
We seek to do no harm, cause no loss, keep the peace and remain honourable in our agreements. We take responsibility for the consequences of our actions and expect the same standard of those acting on our behalf.
We are building the alternative
Through our Local Assemblies, National Soil Assembly and International Land Assembly, we are creating the structures through which the people can increasingly govern themselves, care for their communities and responsibly steward what we share.
